Terms and Conditions

General provisions

www.web3knowledgebase.com (“Web3 Knowledge Base”) is a website operated by nChain Licensing AG (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are a private limited company registered in Switzerland under company number CHE-361.314.417. nChain Licensing AG is part of the nChain group of companies (“our Group”). To contact us, please email [email protected]. By using Web3 Knowledge Base, you confirm that you accept these Web3 Knowledge Base Terms of Use (“Terms“) and you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Web3 Knowledge Base.

Access to Web3 Knowledge Base

In order to access Web3 Knowledge Base, you are required to register and create an account. As part of the sign-up process, we require that you provide us with your full name and email address and set a password. As part of the sign-up process you confirm that you agree to these Terms, the linked Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice (“Governing Documents”).

You can access your information in the Account Settings section of the website and may provide us with additional information such as company name, industry, country, and phone number. All personal information provided by you will be used and stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy, You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during the registration process. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and any activities that occur under your account.

You agree to promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account at any time without notice and for any reason, without liability to you.

Other terms that may apply

We will collect and process the following data about you:

  • Privacy Policy, which sets out how we process personal data we receive from you. If you do not wish your personal data to be processed in this way, you should not use Web3 Knowledge Base.
  • Cookie Notice, which sets out information about the cookies on Web3 Knowledge Base.
Changes to these Terms, the Governing Documents and to Web3 Knowledge Base

We may amend these Terms and the other Governing Documents from time to time without giving you prior notice. Please periodically check these Terms and the other Governing Documents to ensure you understand the provisions that apply. If you no longer agree to any of the requirements of the Governing Documents you must no longer access Web3 Knowledge Base and may choose to delete your account via the Account Settings page on Web3 Knowledge Base.

We may also update and change Web3 Knowledge Base from time to time. We do not guarantee that Web3 Knowledge Base, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted and we may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of Web3 Knowledge Base at any time. You are responsible for ensuring that all persons accessing Web3 Knowledge Base through your internet connection are aware of these Terms, the Governing Documents, and other applicable terms and conditions, and that they comply with them.

Acceptable Use

Web3 Knowledge Base contains details of some of our most valuable assets and by choosing to access Web3 Knowledge Base you agree to abide by the following acceptable use requirements.

You may not use Web3 Knowledge Base:

  • In order to obtain information for purposes of challenge by you or any other person of any of our patents or patent applications of those of any member of our Group.
  • In order to obtain information for the purpose of submitting a patent application.
  • In order to contact any employee or contractor of any member of our Group with a view to employment of that person other than through their position with us or any member of our Group.
  • In any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation.
  • In any way that is unlawful or fraudulent or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
  • To bully, insult, intimidate or humiliate any person.
  • To reproduce, duplicate, copy or re-sell any part of Web3 Knowledge Base in contravention of the provisions of these Terms.
  • To transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam).
  • To knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
Intellectual Property Rights

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in Web3 Knowledge Base, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws and all such rights are reserved.

You may print off one copy, and download extracts, of any page(s) for your personal use and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to content posted on Web3 Knowledge Base.

You must not modify materials you have printed off or downloaded, and you must not use illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences separately from accompanying text. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as authors of content on Web3 Knowledge Base must always be acknowledged.

nChain is not responsible for any third-party content or linked websites provided on Web3 Knowledge Base. The provision of any link does not imply nChain’s endorsement of the website and is provided only as a convenience.

Loss or damages

We do not exclude or limit our liability to you where it would be unlawful for us to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors, and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

If you are a business user:

  • We exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations or other terms that may apply to Web3 Knowledge Base or any content on it.
  • We will not be liable to you for loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with use of, or inability to use, Web3 Knowledge Base or use of or reliance on any content displayed on Web3 Knowledge Base. Viruses

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in these Terms, we reserve the right to prohibit linking to Web3 Knowledge Base for any reason, in our sole and absolute discretion, even if the linking complies with the requirements described above.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your access to and use of Web3 Knowledge Base, without notice and liability, including, without limitation, if we believe your conduct fails to conform with these Terms.

We also reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of these Terms.

Which country’s laws apply to any disputes?

These Terms of Use, their subject matter and their formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by the laws of Switzerland and the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Switzerland.
